TESTIMONIAL FOR A STEINWAY BOSTON PIANO
Dear Coach House Pianos,
I am very pleased to tell you that the Boston grand piano is a great success! Despite being hampered by a sprained thumb (done the very day the piano was delivered, such is life) I have enjoyed playing it enormously, and as the thumb improves, more and more so.
It is extraordinarily responsive - you have only to think it and it happens (well, mostly!). It makes me realise how much effort usually goes into compensating for the limitations of most of the pianos I come across. Now, the only problem is compensating for my own limitations as a pianist - which of course is the challenge one really wants to be addressing.
I must thank you especially for steering me in the direction of the Boston. You picked up my desire for a quietish piano as it was to go into a not huge and rather low-ceilinged room. After a fair bit of messing around with amounts of carpet - allowing a bare-boarded area for string players in chamber music - I have found a position in which it sounds wonderful, and when appropiate, plenty loud enough! Truth is, it has a fantastic dynamic range, and the una corda is something else again, quite velvety.
Indeed in all registers it manages to be very clear and yet warm - Janine and the friend who recommended you have played it and agree that it is a delight. It even makes hard things easier - Sparky's magic piano springs to mind!
Well, I could go on and on, but I'd rather be playing it - which is a bit of a problem for the rest of life generally - hard to tear myself away! But I did want to express my gratitude to all of you for making the choice so informed, hassle-free and friendly.
Very best wishes
Mr N Heath
