It’s that time of year again - the John Lewis Christmas advert has been released!! Have you seen the latest offering, featuring excitable Edgar? He is quite adorable we’ll admit but of course, given our passion for pianos, we kind of preferred last years.
In 2018 John Lewis titled their ad “The Boy And The Piano”, basing it on the musical journey of Sir Elton John.
It begins in present day and then cleverly works backwards chronologically through Elton’s life until we find ourselves right back at the beginning, watching that pivotal moment on Christmas morning when his little face lights up on receiving a magical gift.
Without that piano, how different would Elton’s life be today?
We understand that gifting a piano can be a life-changing experience and “The Boy And The Piano” perfectly captured how that one, seemingly fleeting, moment can completely change the course of a life.
This festive season why not write a new story? Inspire a loved one with the purest gift of all – music. And you never know, you could be the one to change the course of history for someone you love this Christmas.
Being the UK's largest Yamaha piano supplier, our keen eyes loved spotting that most of the pianos Elton plays are Yamaha’s, with the exception of his very first piano, which has the name ‘King Brothers’ on the front of it – an old traditional, British built piano, probably from the 1920s or 30s.
We are unbiased though and sell a wide range of pianos, so if you have any questions about Yamaha, or any other brands, give us a call, browse our website or visit our Swansea or London showrooms and we'd be happy to offer advice and support.
Which is your favourite?
