Bösendorfer's Limited Edition Beethoven Grand Piano

By Lucy Maddox - December 10, 2020

Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany in December 1770, making 2020 the year and this month the month of his 250th birthday!

He died in 1827, which was just a year before Ignaz Bösendorfer began to produce his world-renowned pianos. Beethoven would therefore never have played on a Bösendorfer, and yet the company and the composer are closely associated due to their shared ties to the cultural epicentre of piano music, Vienna.

Vienna is Bösendorfer’s “hometown” and the place that Beethoven spent a large portion of his working life after moving there in 1792.
