Steinway & Sons Model K | Cotswolds

By Sam Rusling - May 31, 2011

Dear Everyone at Coach House Pianos,

Half-term holiday has finally arrived - and this has given me the opportunity to e mail you, re. purchase of the above [Steinway & Sons Model K].  My apologies for not being in touch sooner!

First of all, both my wife and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the kindness and professional assistance you gave to us in choosing the Steinway Upright "K".  As you know, I am a professional piano teacher, and it has always been a lifelong ambition of mine to teach on one of these beautiful instruments. The piano has truly lived up to its reputation - since being delivered (and I have to say this was handled in a very professional manner as well) pupils have found the piano a joy to play on, and in the time I get to play, I have become aware of the "Steinway experience", which, frankly, is something quite exceptional.

As you are aware, I have made the step up to the Steinway, having owned a Boston upright, purchased from you 6 years ago. This piano has also lived up to its reputation. Pupils loved to play on it from the beginning - it has been a "working piano", but my pupils are always taught to respect the piano, and right up to the time I exchanged it for the Steinway, it continued to be an excellent instrument to teach on, and for me to play personally. It was with some regret that I parted with the Boston - for no other reason than simply to step up to the Steinway. In fact, I would have loved to have kept both [2 piano duets for the pupils!] but cost precluded this! It goes without saying that the piano has been tuned on a regular basis. The piano has played many a duet, and 6 hands ensembles - and this kind of use, across the whole range of the keyboard has kept it in tip-top condition. My wife also took on the task of dusting the piano on a regular basis, and the removal of many a child's fingerprint! It has been very much a loved and cared for instrument. I hope its new owner will love it as much as we have!

Finally, thank you very much for the exceptional deal you gave us on the Steinway, and the matching stool.  In truth Coach House Pianos  are honest and straightforward. Your approach is highly professional and extremely knowledgable. In the event of a further purchase I would not hesitate to return to Coach House Pianos, and I frequently recommend you to my pupils.

Thank you again for your outstanding service.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Farbrother (ALCM).
